A few years ago, the team behind the Féile Festival approached us with a request to breathe new life into their website. The existing site felt dated, and they were looking for something fresher and more engaging to set them on the world’s stage.

As Ireland’s biggest community festival, we knew we had a major task on our hands. We needed to create a website that would act like a social community hub, showcasing the wide range of events and activities happening and generating a buzz surrounding the upcoming festival.

Keep reading to find out how we transformed Féile’s digital presence through a custom-built website that offers superior functionality and user experience.

Féile an Phobail - Homepage

Féile

Féile an Phobail, also known simply as Féile, is celebrated as Ireland’s Biggest Community Arts Festival. The flagship event of Féile is the August Féile, which stands as the centrepiece of the festival calendar in Ireland. They also provide an annual programme of year-round events in arts, cultural, and community-based activities.

The flagship festival features an eclectic mix of events, including, headline concerts, lively debates and discussions, art exhibitions, and massive community and sporting events. It is known for showcasing the very best of Belfast and welcoming visitors from all over the world to join in on the fun.

Homepage of Féile an Phobail on Desktop and Mobile

The Challenge

Féile needed a website that could pace with their activities and events. The previous website lacked smooth user functionality – it felt slightly dated and failed to represent the energy and excitement of the Féile festival.

There were a lot of things on our checklist that we needed to do, including;

  • Organising events and activities on the website in a user-friendly way.
  • Embedding a brand identity to the website.
  • Designing a clear website layout that was easily navigated.
  • Showcasing previous events and building excitement for future projects.

In order to ensure that we could deliver on these goals, we decided to go for a complete website custom build. This would allow greater flexibility and control for what’s included on the website and allow us to create an entirely unique space that would showcase Féile to both local and global audiences.

Our Approach

Our team developed a custom-built WordPress website, complete with a new layout designed by our creative experts. The results paled in comparison compared to the previous website and the Féile team was very happy with the outcome.

Our approach included the following website design and development elements:

Vibrant Colour Scheme

We incorporated the festival’s key colours into the website design – purple, green, and blue. This strengthened their brand identity and created a vibrant and inviting visual experience for online visitors.

Strategic Call to Actions

We strategically placed call-to-action buttons throughout the site. The “Buy Tickets” button was especially important, given the year-round events that Féile hosts, including the Fela and Maza Festival in summer and various autumn festivals. This would prompt audiences to take action and get involved in many aspects of the local community festival.

Event Showcase

A dedicated section of the website highlights current events that are happening, ensuring that visitors can easily find and attend Féile festivals throughout the year. This would help encourage participation and uptake in local events.

Video Integration

At the client’s request, we also made video content a focal point of the website, which is a strategic move in engaging visitors and sharing the energy that the Féile brings every year. We embedded a dedicated video for each year of the Féile, as well as additional videos about the history, culture and significance of the community-based festival.

FéileTV

To further emphasize the importance of video content, we also included a link to Féile TV, which redirects visitors to the client’s YouTube channel where they can view videos of past festivals and activities. This promotes the legacy of the Féile, cementing it as a valued community event that attendees look forward to each year.

Easy Navigation

The website is designed for ease of use, with clear content about when the Féile festival is happening and easy links to learn more about the festival and upcoming events, this feature was particularly important, especially during festival season. Easy and simple navigation was a major focus throughout the build and something we ensured was evident within every page of the site.

Additional Features

We also added a gallery section for visitors to explore images from previous festivals and a “Visit West Belfast” section as it is the home of the annual event. We ensured that the website would become a hub of information, encouraging visitors to stick around for longer and ultimately enhancing the SEO performance of the site.

Social Media Integration

Recognising the client’s active social media presence, we also integrated a live social media feed into the website, in addition to the standard social media icons. Again this was included to generate excitement, encourage discussion and promote the range of activities on offer.

Homepage of Féile an Phobail on Desktop and Mobile

The Results

The revamped Féile Festival website is more than just a fresh coat of paint – it’s a comprehensive digital platform that meets the client’s needs and offers visitors an engaging, user-friendly experience.

From the vibrant colour scheme to the strategic placement of call-to-action buttons and the integration of video content, every element of the site was designed with enhanced user experience in mind.

Féile now has a dedicated website that can encompass the level of activity that they do. We have successfully created an online hub that generates interest and engagement in addition to putting Belfast on the global stage.

With a sleek website, enhanced user functionality and simple, easy navigation we have delivered on all of our objectives and most importantly, ensured that our clients at Féile were happy with the results!

It’s not just curriculum-based learning

Another major goal of Learning Mole was to provide resources for children in learning life skills, something that is often overlooked within the traditional curriculum. This content includes topics such as financial literacy for kids and coding for kids.

These life skills are best learnt at an early age, it will help teach them the importance of managing personal finances and introduce them to subjects that are not yet included in the national curriculum but ought to be.

And for parents

The content isn’t just for children to learn from, but also for parents to learn helpful tips that will support their children’s learning. It can be quite challenging to get the right techniques for teaching reading or writing, but with Learning Mole’s helpful videos, you can ensure that you are giving your child the best support at home.

It’s been a success

Since its initial launch as an educational platform, Learning Mole has only gone from strength to strength in developing its digital presence and outreach. Check out some of the amazing statistics below!

Hotel Website Design Refresh

Denvir’s Coaching Inn needed a complete refresh for its website design. This included the content, website functionality and all of the visual aspects. Our approach was to create a sleek design that could easily engage with visitors and quickly communicate the USPs of Denvir’s Coaching Inn.

Screenshot of user friendly grid on Denvirs website

Enhanced User Experience

We created a clear and intuitive interface for an enjoyable user experience, this made it simple for potential guests to find information about Denvir’s rooms, amenities, prices, hotel location, and more. We also embedded a responsive web design which ensured that the website functions well on all devices.

Increased Direct Bookings

We were able to increase the number of direct bookings via Denvir’s Coaching Inn website. Our website developers built a faster and higher-performing website, whilst integrating with the hotel’s room management system for direct bookings.

Mailchimp Training

Mailchimp is a marketing automation platform and an email marketing service. It is a versatile tool in a digital marketing toolkit and can help secure ongoing website traffic and bookings when utilised.

As part of our digital training services, we have also provided Denvir’s Coaching Inn with MailChimp training, which will help them in promoting the new website launch, driving traffic and managing their own email marketing strategy.

SEO Tactics

A major objective of our hotel marketing strategy for Denvir’s Coaching Inn was to create SEO-friendly content with embedded strategic keywords. This would help attract local traffic, boost page rankings and provide an avenue for competing with other local hotels and booking giants.

180+ Keywords

The results of this SEO for hotels marketing tactic yielded several benefits, they now rank for over 180+ keywords with specific targeted phrases such as;

  • Downpatrick Hotel
  • Bars in Downpatrick
  • Food in Downpatrick
  • Hotels in Downpatrick
  • Restaurants in Downpatrick

This helped Denvir’s Coaching Inn position itself as a social, vibrant hub, targeting both locals who are looking for somewhere to eat and socialise and potential tourists who are searching for accommodation in Downpatrick.

Portfolio 1

Providing Clarity

Another strategic SEO tactic for this strategically tailored hotel marketing strategy was to ensure that both search engines and potential website visitors knew what Denvir’s Coaching Inn was offering.

The actual phrase ‘Coaching Inn’ isn’t a popularly searched term, the image below indicates the search data for both key phrases. Our marketing tactics are always data-driven and so we needed to strike the perfect balance between the business’ name and providing clarity on what they were actually offering.

SEO Terms

Performing this type of research beforehand allows us to write SEO content that will actually attract website visitors, ensuring that people know who you are and what it is that your business provides. We ensured that the website referred to the fact that Denvir’s is a Downpatrick hotel and a popular location in Downpatrick for food and drinks.

USP and SEO

Whilst much of the SEO tactics used were influenced by SEO keywords, we also ensured that Denvir’s USPs and brand personality came through in the content. We emphasised the fact that Denvir’s is the oldest surviving coaching inn in Ireland and a Grade A-listed building, effectively communicating the hotel’s unique brand of a historical accommodation that embodies authentic Irish charm and hospitality.

Portfolio 2

Visual Imagery and Video Content

Visual imagery plays a crucial role in hotel marketing for several reasons. High-quality images and video content can provide potential guests with a strong first impression of the hotel, its amenities, and its welcoming atmosphere. Our talented video marketing team visited the premises of Denvir’s Coaching Inn, capturing visual content that showcased the appeal of staying in a quaint, charming location such as Denvir’s Coaching Inn.

The video

We shot an impressive promotional video that followed the narrative of a couple who chose to stay at Denvir’s Coaching Inn. The storyline depicted the whole experience of checking in, offloading luggage in the room and heading out to create some memorable experiences and activities.

What this video did quite well was to show an authentic experience of what you can have when staying at Denvir’s Coaching Inn. It wasn’t some generic hotel video that you see in the likes of Hilton, or Virgin Hotels, instead, it was personalised, showcasing the best of Downpatrick and how a stay at Denvir’s Coaching Inn is central to that experience.

Imagery

The images we created for the Denvirs website design refresh extended a sense of warmth and hospitality to potential guests. On the homepage, we specifically included a collection of bespoke imagery that depicted the smiling faces of bartenders pulling pints, neat and restful rooms, and the amazing quality of food on offer.

With this approach, we believed that we could capture the audience’s attention within seconds of visiting the homepage, encouraging them to stick around for longer, increasing SEO rankings and embedding a type of visual call to action.

Within hotel marketing campaigns, those with high-quality imagery and video content will always resonate better with audiences. It will increase engagement levels and help potential guests visualise themselves staying on your premises. In fact, according to a study by MDG Advertising, articles with relevant images get 94% more views than those without.

A Successful Hotel Marketing Strategy

A well-designed hotel website not only makes the property more appealing to potential guests but also provides functional benefits that can significantly impact the hotel’s success in terms of bookings and revenue.

We helped Denvir’s Coaching Inn carve out its own digital presence and steer audiences away from the large booking platforms to a tailored website that provides a more personalised experience of a potential stay.

At ProfileTree, we know how to strategically target audiences, delivering a tailored hotel marketing strategy that generates real results. We take your unique brand story and show it to the world, will your business be next?

Training websites usually tend to have a lot of information that visitors need to make sense of, so when it comes to training website design, the goal is always to create a seamless, user-friendly experience.

We recently had the pleasure of working with People 1st – a local training provider based in Northern Ireland. They provide a wide variety of training courses and apprenticeships across various different sectors, so their website needed a clear structure, simple navigation and strategic web design.

That’s where we came in.

As a leading website design and digital marketing agency, we were able to take the People 1st website and revamp their online presence. It’s now an inviting, informative and digital space that attracts audiences and places People 1st as the ideal training provider.

Keep reading for a closer look at our journey together.

Screenshot of People1st Homepage

The Client

People 1st is not just any training provider. With locations spread across Northern Ireland and even some in Donegal, they have established a significant footprint in the training sector.

Their offerings are diverse, ranging from apprenticeships in sectors like health and social care, and barbering, to training in hospitality and building and construction services. Additionally, they also provide programs aimed at helping individuals get back to employment or undergo early retraining.

All of this meant that their website was going to be a vault of detailed information, which needed to be organised in such a way that visitors could find the information they needed along with recognising why People 1st is the ideal choice for their training requirements.

The Need for a Refresh

The team at People 1st approached us with a clear need: they wanted a refreshed website that was easier to manage and update. Their previous system was fragmented, relying on various Excel sheets and other tools. The goal was to centralise everything, making the management process smoother and more efficient.

Training Website Design

Training website design is a specialised subset of web design that focuses on creating platforms for educational institutions, trainers, e-learning platforms, and other entities that offer instructional content. These websites are tailored to facilitate learning, course management, and user engagement.

At ProfileTree, we are experts in training website design. We embedded these web design principles throughout the build, ensuring that the content and layout engaged with potential students, communicating the necessary information in a comprehensible and visually appealing way.

Check out how we did it below.

Screenshot showing the search functionality of People1st website

Enhancing User Experience

Training websites must be intuitive. Users, whether they’re students, professionals, or casual learners, should be able to navigate the site easily, find courses or materials they’re looking for, and interact with content without any hitches.

A significant part of our redesign focused on the user journey. We wanted visitors to easily navigate through the different sectors, view the various courses on offer, and filter them based on their needs and interests.

Streamlined registration

We also introduced a streamlined registration setup as part of the training website design. This acted as a visual call to action and ensured that potential students/trainees could sign up for services without any hassle.

Mobile Responsiveness

With the rise of mobile learning, it’s crucial for training websites to be mobile-responsive. This ensures that learners can access content on the go, from any device, be it a smartphone, tablet, or desktop.

We ensured that the People 1st website was mobile responsive, especially given the amount of information about their courses, apprenticeships, etc. Mobile users could now easily navigate the website and easily find the information they are searching for.

Scalability

As institutions grow and evolve, so do their training needs. A good training website design should be scalable, allowing for the addition of new courses, users, and features without major overhauls.

We ensured that the website was able to keep pace as People 1st grew. This would help secure long-term success for both the business and its digital presence. At ProfileTree we don’t just build websites for the now but also for the future.

Designated categories

In order to enhance the visual appeal of the People 1st website, we created designated categories of the industry sectors that they provided training for. We also colour-coded them and added icons so that they were quickly identifiable to visitors.

Adjustments such as these are essential in training website design, without them, the information could appear confusing, overloading the visitor and causing them to leave the site because it is simply too much hassle to navigate through.

It’s also worth noting that if a learning website is difficult to navigate, it also suggests that the training course would be difficult to comprehend. Training websites, more so than others, need to pay particular attention to this point, as we are typically influenced by first impressions, and for many potential customers, your business website will be their first impression of your brand.

FAQs – Addressing Queries Efficiently

One of the most overlooked yet essential features of training website design is the FAQ section. This section serves as a first-stop solution hub for users, addressing common queries and concerns they might have.

Whether it’s about course details, payment methods, technical requirements, or certification validity, the FAQ section provides quick answers without the need for direct interaction. Not only does this save time for both the user and the website administrators, but it also builds confidence in the user, assuring them that the platform anticipates and understands their needs.

Moreover, a well-structured FAQ can also reduce the load on customer support, streamline the user journey, and even improve the website’s SEO by incorporating relevant keywords and addressing common search queries.

For People 1st, we ensured that specific courses had a dedicated FAQ section, this ensured that the frequently asked questions were organised accordingly to answer the visitor’s queries. We also built the FAQs with a drop-down feature, so visitors had the option to reveal answers to common questions, which helped save on website space so as to not overload the page with information.

An Ongoing SEO Strategy

A well-designed training website also needs to be visible to its target audience. SEO optimization ensures that the website ranks well on search engines, making it easier for potential learners to discover.

For People 1st, there were massive opportunities for them to capitalise on SEO. The many different courses provided avenues for content creation that could target specific audiences who were interested in furthering their skills and learning.

People 1st engaged with us for ongoing SEO, attending regular training sessions with our team member, Steven, to understand how they could improve online visibility and maintain their site’s SEO. This proactive approach ensures that they don’t just have a great website but also one that ranks well and attracts the right audience.

  • Website Optimisation

Having a website is a necessity in today’s digital landscape, it’s the hub of your online presence and the place where visitors will find your brand. But you also need a website that can convert those visits into sales, which was the problem faced by our client – Enviro FWA.

Recognising that their existing website was falling short, Enviro FWA turned to us for a solution. They wanted better conversion rate optimization on their website, more visitors and better SEO performance.

We were able to do just that, through a strategic website redesign – keep reading to find out how.

Enviro FWA - Homepage

The Client

Enviro FWA is an established and renowned supplier of air conditioning, ventilation, and fire safety products and services. With 20 years of experience in the industry, they have built a solid reputation as industry experts within their field.

Enviro FWA also boasts a team of experts who are dedicated to delivering a reliable service, with sustainable products that meet the highest industry standards. They encourage potential clients to choose Enviro Fire Water & Air Limited for all installation and servicing needs, promising a difference that their expertise and dedication can make.

Portfolio 3

The Challenge

There were a few challenges that stood in the way of Enviro’s online success, including;

  • An outdated website.
  • Lack of user-friendly navigation.
  • Poor conversion rates.
  • A website performance score of 17 on GTmetrix.

The website performance score of 17 was a clear indicator that more work needed to be done, it was hindering their success instead of creating it. But with a team of expert web developers and content writers, we were able to turn the tide and establish a strong website that could increase their conversion rate optimisation and enhance their digital presence.

Our Approach

Our approach focused on bringing new life to the outdated website. We aimed to fix the technical aspects of the website’s performance and encourage better conversion rate optimisation through embedded calls to action and enhance user experience.

User Experience Enhancement

Our primary focus was to improve the website’s user experience. We aimed to make it easier for visitors to navigate through the site and find exactly what they were looking for. This involved a complete redesign that not only modernised the look of the site but also made it more intuitive and user-friendly.

This is especially important when designing a website that is based on technical products/services. It needs to explain what they do in an easy-to-understand way. If the site is too difficult to navigate through, or if the information is crammed in, it will only serve to reduce the user experience and negatively affect the site’s performance.

SEO Optimisation

We strategically optimised the Enviro FWA website for enhanced SEO performance, some of the things we did include;

  • The correct use of tags (meta tags on images, tags on titles).
  • Setting up internal links properly.
  • On-page SEO elements.
  • Faster loading speeds.

The technical tweaks ensured that we could enhance the SEO performance, leading to more website visits and ultimately, enhanced conversion rate optimisation. As an SEO agency, we are able to combine sleek website design with strategic SEO practices that deliver real results.

Blog Page Enhancements

Another aspect of our SEO approach was to enhance the blog posts on Enviro’s website. This would ensure that the blogs could rank higher and that they could encourage the reader to take action, with strategically placed calls to action.

Each blog post is now linked to a contact page, ensuring that potential clients can effortlessly reach out to Viro for more information. This type of SEO blog also sets an example for Enviro, ensuring that they know how to structure content going forward.

Crafting a Service Product Page

To further assist Enviro in showcasing its services, we developed a single service product page. This clean and organised layout allowed potential customers to easily understand and access Enviro’s diverse offerings. We also included a strategically placed contact button to encourage inquiries, moving visitors closer to becoming customers.

The Homepage Transformation

The homepage is often a visitor’s first impression of a company, so when it came to Enviro FWA, we gave it a significant facelift:

  • We introduced a new, vibrant header that immediately grabs attention.
  • A clear and compelling call to action was added, guiding visitors towards a specific goal.
  • Integrated social media links, making it easy for visitors to connect with Enviro FWA on various platforms.

This homepage transformation was a crucial step in enhancing the online presence of Enviro FWA. With a welcoming homepage, visitors were encouraged to stick around for longer, explore their services and ultimately, increase conversion rate optimisation.

Portfolio 4

The results

After our comprehensive website redesign and conversion rate optimisation efforts,

Enviro’s website performance skyrocketed, bringing in more traffic and generating more sales. We have helped them gain a competitive foothold within their industry and reach clients through an engaging online space.

At ProfileTree, we don’t just design websites that look good, we also build websites that perform. When our client ProCoffee came to us for help with their website, we knew what we needed to do and we had a team of skilled web developers on hand to do it (shout out to Marcus in particular!.)

The GT Metrix results don’t lie and despite not having built the website, we were still able to bring the GT Metrix score up to an A standard. This meant that the new ProCoffee website was sleek, fast and high-performing. No more losing visitors to a poor non-responsive website, instead, visitors could spend time browsing ProCoffee products via an interactive, and intuitive digital space.

In this article, we’ll take you through the website design strategy that we implemented for ProCoffee, covering all of the technical web development adjustments for optimum website performance and delving into the SEO content that puts ProCoffee in front of the right target audience.

ProCoffee - Homepage

The Client

ProCoffee is a unique protein-based coffee blend that offers customers various health benefits alongside a great-tasting beverage. We can attest to the great taste because they were kind enough to bring a sample into the office – it didn’t last long.

When they came to us they explained the issues that they were having with low website traffic and poor conversion rates. They wanted to improve their SEO performance, attract more visitors and ultimately increase their product sales. We helped them achieve just that through a precise and targeted website redesign strategy.

Screenshot of ProCoffee Desktop and Mobile with Optimisation Icon overlay

Our Approach

Our initial approach was two-pronged; to enhance the website’s functionality and to create SEO content to improve the website’s visibility. This strategy would ensure that ProCoffee appeared in front of the right audiences in addition to ensuring that they wanted to stick around on the website for longer.

ProCoffee - GTMetrix Report Before
Before

Improving the GT Metrix Performance Score

GT Metrix is a web performance tool that offers free and paid analysis of a website’s speed and performance. By inputting a URL, users can get a detailed report on what might be causing their website to load slowly or perform poorly.

GT Metrix gives scores using Google’s Lighthouse performance metrics, it provides detailed metrics on how long it takes for various parts of your website to load and helps in identifying bottlenecks or problematic resources.

Because we didn’t build the website, we first needed to know the current performance of ProCoffee, which showed us a rating of C. This technical information then allowed our web developer to identify precise optimization adjustments to increase the grade.

As a leading website design and development agency, we understand the importance of regularly checking tools like GT Metrix and value how instrumental they are in ensuring that a website provides a good user experience, which is increasingly vital for SEO and user retention.

ProCoffee - GTMetrix Report After

Improving the GT Metix Score from C to A

Following this analysis from GT Metrix, we brought the performance of the ProCoffee website to an A grade, which is a significant success and credit to our amazing talented team of developers.

Check out the specifics of how we achieved this below.

Minification of code

Minification of code refers to the process of removing all unnecessary characters from the source code of web files without changing their functionality. This is done to reduce the size of the code, which in turn reduces the time it takes to download and load a website.

Image compression

Image compression refers to the process of reducing the file size of an image, either by eliminating unnecessary data from the image file or by using algorithms that efficiently encode the image data. The main goal of image compression is to represent an image using the least amount of data while maintaining an acceptable level of quality.

Added Internal Links

Internal linking was implemented throughout the website, this provided several benefits to the website’s performance including;

  • Enhanced User Experience
  • Increased Page Authority
  • Information Hierarchy Structure
  • Improved Crawling and Indexing
  • More strategic Keyword Targeting
  • Decreased Bounce Rate
  • Prolonged Engagement:

Internal linking is a critical component of website design and content strategy, playing a crucial role in enhancing user experience, site structure, and SEO efforts.

Optimised meta titles and alt tags

Optimising meta titles and alt tags plays a crucial role in improving a website’s visibility, usability, and SEO performance. A meta title is one of the most significant on-page SEO factors whilst alt tags provide context and information about the image, helping search engines understand and index it.

Improved Page Headings

We also improved all of the page headings and ensured that they provided clearly structured content that both search engine algorithms and readers could quickly understand. This process establishes a hierarchy of information and helps readers understand the organisation of the content and the relationships between different sections.

Through this technical website optimization we were able to deliver a high-performing and sleek website redesign to our client’s at ProCoffee. The GT Metrix A Score is proof of this optimization and evidence of our technical skill and ability.

GT Metrix Speed Test

The Speed Index is a type of speed test that represents how quickly the contents of a page are visibly populated. It’s one of the performance metrics provided by GT Metrix when analysing a web page.

The Speed Index is typically represented in milliseconds. A lower Speed Index means the content is displayed more quickly, leading to a better user experience. Several elements can influence a page’s Speed Index, including server response times, render-blocking resources (like JavaScript and CSS), and large media files (unoptimized images or videos).

Speed Index is valuable because it’s centred on user experience. A website might technically load quickly (i.e., all resources are loaded), but if the visible content takes time to appear, users might perceive it as slow.

ProCoffee - Speed Index Before

Speed Index of 1.9s

When we first analysed ProCoffee, their website speed was sitting at 1.9s which wasn’t a desirable metric of optimum website performance. Longer page loading times can be detrimental to the success of a website, frustrating visitors and resulting in higher bounce rates.

Speed Index Increased to 436ms

A good user experience is considered to be 1.3s or less, and we delivered results that produced a speed index rating of just 436ms – a great achievement and one we are very proud of.

At ProfileTree, we have created a bulletproof strategy that produces high-performing websites that can capture the audience’s attention. Our skilled team knows how to implement technical adjustments, ensuring that you receive a functional website build that best represents your brand.

ProCoffee - Speed Index After

SEO Analysis

In order to ensure a profitable website design, we also implemented a strong SEO strategy to ensure that the website was visible to potential audiences. However, before we could implement this strategy, we have to perform an SEO analysis to direct our efforts.

Our SEO performance analysis of ProCoffee showed that they were ranking for approximately 20 keywords, with an average position of 95. There was definitely room for growth and we were able to design a content strategy for optimum results.

ProCoffee - Search Position

SEO Content Strategy

We developed a tactful SEO content strategy that would ensure heightened visibility, improved SEO rankings and ultimately attract more website visitors to generate product sales. This was achieved through a comprehensive package that included the following.

A monthly content plan

This strategic monthly plan would become the backbone of the SEO efforts, ensuring high-quality content was consistently produced in order to grow the website and appeal to search engine algorithms.

Two monthly articles

These two monthly articles would target a predetermined set of keywords, strengthening the brand as a health and fitness expert and targeting like-minded audiences who value a healthy lifestyle.

Monthly keyword research and suggestions

In order to stay ahead of the latest online trends and conversions, we also regularly reviewed the keyword targeted list, ensuring that we quickly identified any emerging trends that we could capitalise on for the benefit of the ProCoffee website.

Portfolio 6

Regular reviews of SEO performance

This comprehensive approach to improving the SEO was underpinned by a commitment to continual improvement. Regular reviews were conducted to gauge traffic influx and assess the tangible benefits of the content strategy, ensuring ProCoffee always remained a step ahead in the digital landscape.

248 Keywords

The results showed an impressive jump in the website’s SEO performance and in just 6 months, ProCoffee was now ranking for 248 keywords, generating a steady amount of traffic and most importantly, attracting the right kind of audiences – those who were interested in protein based coffee and the added vitamins and nutrients that their product provides.

A combined approach for enhancing the GTMetrix Score and SEO

While the content strategy played a pivotal role in boosting ProCoffee and its SEO, it was the technical optimization of their website that laid the foundation for this success. It’s essential to underscore that initiating the technical work was not just a one-off task; it was the bedrock upon which all subsequent strategies were built.

However, establishing this foundation was only the beginning. To ensure sustained website health and performance, regular content updates and optimization became integral. By meticulously combining both these aspects – rigorous technical refinement and continual content enrichment – we ensured that ProCoffee was able to achieve and maintain an optimised digital presence and stand out in an ever-evolving digital marketplace.

ProCoffee - Homepage

A Comprehensive Digital Marketing Agency

A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application or web-based platform designed to plan, deliver, manage, and assess a learning process. It provides training providers, administrators, and learners with a single, centralised solution to create online courses, enrol students, and track their progress throughout the learning journey.

However, for an existing website, this can become quite complex to integrate efficiently and often, a specialist web development approach is required in order to ensure full functionality and control over the Learning Management System.

Integrating a Learning Management System onto WordPress

While we didn’t design the main WordPress website of Concrete Batching Solutions, we did have the privilege of developing a crucial component for their employee training and onboarding processes.

We helped integrate their learning materials, course requirements and onboarding process into a simple, user-friendly LMS that they could manage in-house. Keep reading to find out exactly how we did it and what benefits it produced for our client.

Screenshot of Concrete Batching Systems LMS - Homepage

The Client

Concrete Batching Systems is based in Belfast and has its core business revolving around concrete. Their commitment to the concrete industry is unparalleled, and they have established a significant presence in the market. As industry-leading suppliers, they focus specifically on the needs of the customer, offering everything from specification, design, supply, installation, and backup.

However, for their staff, they needed an effective Learning Management System, in order to train employees in the essential skills and knowledge required for their specific job roles. This was important for various reasons, including quality control, legal adherence and excellent customer service.

Project Overview

Our primary task was to develop a Learning Management System (LMS) for Concrete Batching Systems. This LMS was not just any regular system; it was designed to serve as a comprehensive portal for training and support, a system that would underpin their operations and set the precedent for the quality of their standard going forward.

Screenshot of Desktop and Mobile of Concrete Batching Systems LMS

LMS Features

As part of the integrated Learning Management System of WordPress, we included several features that would boost engagement and enhance the user experience. Check them out below

Content-Rich

The LMS contained a mix of reading materials and videos to cater to different learning preferences. This is a central requirement of an LMS, as it primarily functions to facilitate learning through the most helpful mediums for the learner.

Customizable Views

We also integrated customisable views depending on user roles or departments. This ensured that the LMS was appealing to individual users, providing a user experience that was relevant and easily navigated through.

Lesson Plans

This LMS also included various lesson plans to help guide the learning and ensure that the content was retainable and easily understood by the learner. It also allowed the learner to visually track their learning progress.

Progress Tracking

The system could track employee progress, providing percentages of completion of the course. This would allow supervisors and trainers to track employee progress and identify areas for focus and growth.

Evidence of Training

A unique feature of this LMS was the ability to show evidence of training, which is particularly useful for inspections and compliance checks. It provided tangible evidence of learning that was recorded, dated and stored in a centralised location.

Successful WordPress LMS Integration

Our team of web developers successfully integrated an LMS system for our clients at Concrete Batching Systems. Going forward, it provided them with many tangible benefits of enhanced operational management and employee training.

New Employee Onboarding

New recruits could track how far they’ve progressed in their training, ensuring a smooth induction process and preparing them with the relevant training and knowledge to support their new roles.

Inspections

For compliance checks and inspections, Batching Concrete Systems could now effortlessly show evidence that employees had undergone the necessary training. They could also track when it was time for employees to refresh their training, ensuring that they could uphold a consistent standard.

Simple user interface

Another success of integrating this LMS is that we could maintain an easy-to-use interface. The simplicity of this feature ensured that both learners and course supervisors could easily interact with the platform, access relevant information and create a suitable learning environment.

Filtered results

Given the size of Concrete Batching Solutions, we recognised that they had many departments that worked together in order to maintain the business. This meant that the LMS had to reflect the many different departments and categorise the learning accordingly.

We ensured the LMS had different sections for finance, customer support, business development etc. Creating an organised space would give them greater control over training requirements and better management of the different departments.

Adherence to ISO Standards

One of the standout features of the LMS we developed for Concrete Batching Systems is its alignment with ISO standards. ISO, or the International Organization for Standardization, sets globally recognized standards for various industries, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.

In the context of training and education, adhering to these standards is paramount. Our LMS not only facilitates the delivery of standardised training content but also provides robust tracking and reporting features.

This ensured that Concrete Batching Systems could effortlessly demonstrate compliance during ISO inspections. By maintaining a digital record of every training module, test result, and user interaction, the LMS serves as a comprehensive evidence diary, showcasing the company’s commitment to international best practices and continuous improvement.

A Successful LMS WordPress Integration

At the heart of our mission lies a commitment that goes beyond mere online visibility. While a strong digital presence is undeniably crucial in today’s world, we recognize that operational requirements are the backbone of businesses like Concrete Batching Systems. Our work with the Learning Management System is a testament to this belief.

We don’t just design websites; we craft comprehensive digital solutions that cater to both the front-facing and behind-the-scenes needs of our clients. Ensuring the smooth running of operations, streamlining processes, and enhancing efficiency are just as paramount to us as creating a visually appealing online interface.

In partnering with us, you’re choosing an agency that understands the holistic demands of modern businesses and is equipped to meet them head-on.

In the ever-evolving digital age, having a user-friendly and informative website is crucial for professionals, especially in the medical field. Dr Seni recognised this need for his business and approached us for assistance in medical web design.

With a new user-friendly website, updated logo and refreshed brand identity, we were able to create a medical website that engaged visitors and helped Dr Seni cut through the noise of his competitors. Keep reading to find out how we did it.

Dr Seni - Homepage

The Client

Dr. Seni is an NHS Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon. He has specialist expertise in assessing breast symptoms, managing benign breast conditions, breast cancer and performing reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgeries.

Dr. Seni’s NHS practice is based at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust. He also offers breast services across the West Midlands, partnering with several healthcare institutions including Nuffield Health Wolverhampton, Spire Parkway Healthcare Solihull, MUMS Solihull, and Transpire Cosmetic Surgery Birmingham.

Given the competition of plastic surgeons based in England, we needed to build a website that could stand out from other providers – showcasing Dr. Seni as the ideal surgeon for breast-related surgeries in the U.K.

Screenshot of Book an Appointment section for Dr Seni Website

The Challenge

The previous website, My Breast Surgeon, wasn’t performing as well as Dr. Seni hoped, while it was functional, it lacked clarity and a smooth, user-friendly flow in presenting the services offered.

Recognising these shortcomings, Dr. Seni wanted a platform that was not only modern and engaging but also easy to update. This flexibility would ensure that as his team grew, or services expanded, the website could keep pace and be easily changed when required.

The challenge was to reinvent his website presence, strengthen his digital reach and create a platform with a simple user interface on both the back end and front end – which is a major priority in medical web design.

Screenshot of Dr Seni logo and web design sections

Our Approach

We created a three-pronged approach for optimum impact; a refreshed website design, updated brand identity, and rich content to attract audiences. Our goal was to create a website that would become a hub of information, supporting potential patients from their initial query right through to consultation and potential surgery. Here’s a breakdown of the process.

Updated Brand Identity

One of the standout features of the new website is its refreshed brand identity. With an updated colour palette, logo and design, the site now resonates more with visitors, capturing their attention and encouraging them to delve deeper into the services.

Enhanced website design

The website design was fully optimised for search engines, ensuring that Dr. Seni remains visible and accessible to those seeking his expertise. The sleek user interface also helps boost SEO performance in terms of enhanced user experience.

In medical web design, it is essential to have a simple and uncomplicated website layout, especially when visitors are searching for medical information – it needs to communicate effectively, and not overwhelm the visitor with unnecessary information.

Website design elements

We also embedded strong call-to-action elements for visitors, encouraging them to arrange a consultation, because Dr. Seni offers such a personal service, there is only so much guidance we can provide on the website before the visitor needs to be assessed individually.

We also included social media icons and a direct contact button, which helped reinforce the notion that potential clients can easily communicate with Dr. Seni and his team. We created a positive website experience with seamless navigation throughout the entire website design.

Rich SEO content

We also created rich SEO content for the website, ensuring that we used strategic keywords for optimum visibility. The homepage is designed to be the gateway to Dr. Seni’s expertise, features a captivating hero banner, detailed information about Dr. Seni, an informational video, and a comprehensive list of his services.

With client testimonials and additional insights about Dr. Seni visitors get a holistic view of what to expect when they choose him as their surgeon.

News/blog section

We also created a dedicated news/blog page, featuring long-form SEO content crafted by the ProfileTree team. This would help kickstart the SEO campaign and attract visitors to his newly launched website.

This also provided a launch pad for Dr. Seni to continue creating his own content, he now regularly updates the site with articles on his thoughts on industry topics, insights into his expertise, and all of the latest news regarding his business.

A blog section is particularly beneficial for medical web design, it’s a way for audiences to find your business and connect your brand with offering industry expertise. If visitors value your content, search engines deem you to be a credible resource – so it’s a win-win all around.

Gallery section

A dedicated gallery section is also particularly important in medical web design. It showcases results, sets expectations and highlights the expertise of Dr. Seni as the ideal surgeon. We ensured that the gallery section was well formatted and presented so that visitors could quickly scan his full portfolio of work.

Testimonials

We also showcased client testimonials throughout the website; on the Homepage and About page. This is essential in medical web design, it reassures potential patients and provides them with the essential information that they will be seeking.

Desktop and Mobile of Dr Seni Homepage

The Results

The refreshed Dr. Seni website is now a sleek, professional online space that positions Dr. Seni as an expert within his field. It welcomes visitors who are seeking medical advice regarding breast care and breast surgery and it encourages potential patients to seek the surgical expertise of Dr. Seni.

90 on-page SEO score

The new website now has a 90 on-page SEO score, which indicates that it has been well-optimised according to the standards of most SEO tools. In our web design, we used the following;

  • Keyword optimisation
  • Meta tags
  • Header tags
  • Image optimization
  • Enhanced URL Structure
  • Internal and External Linking
  • Mobile Responsiveness
  • Enhanced Page Speed
  • Enhanced schema markup

These technical aspects of SEO helped us achieve an on-page score of 90 for Dr. Seni, meaning his website is in the ideal position to reach audiences and climb up the ranks of search engine results.

A satisfied client outcome

Dr. Seni was extremely satisfied with the outcome of this website build. It was sleek, professional and easily navigated, which was one of his main concerns at the beginning. The fact that he could now add blog content is a testament to the simple back-end functionality we implemented.

The website now captures the essence of his practice while offering a seamless and informative experience to visitors. Whether you’re a potential client or a curious visitor, the website promises a journey of discovery and rich engagement.

If you have ever ventured into the world of SEO, you probably already know how important your domain is for SEO purposes. It takes time to build authority and establish an online presence through your domain.

When our clients at Beyond Safety came to us with their new sub-brand we knew we had to come up with a SEO domain solution that protected their existing website domain whilst creating a new digital identity for their in-house brand.

It was an exciting challenge, and we were excited to figure it out. Keep reading to see how we did it.

BeyondSafety - Homepage

The Client

BeyondHR is a Human Resources consultancy firm that provides a range of services across Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England. They assist organisations in recruiting, managing, and safeguarding their staff.

BeyondHR offers services to both SMEs and larger corporate clients. The consultancy team is composed of experienced HR consultants who are experts in the outsourced HR industry and Health & Safety Consultants, who have supported thousands of SMEs across the UK and Ireland, boasting more than 200 years of combined experience.

BeyondHR’s mission is to be the leading provider of outsourced HR support services and health & safety advice for SMEs in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England. They are committed to bringing clarity and perspective to people management, recruitment, and health & safety issues – going beyond what is expected of your usual HR consultancy firm.

Desktop and Mobile view of BeyondSafety Homepage

The Challenge

As part of the business strategy, BeyondHR needed to develop a separate sub-brand for its health and safety services – BeyondSafety. This would help the business expand into the health and safety sector and establish a credible presence within it.

BeyondSafety assists businesses in ensuring that they are in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation. They encourage businesses to reach out to their consultants for guidance and support in this area, aiming to become the leading provider within NI, England and Scotland.

The challenge now was to create two separate brands that could promote both aspects of their business. However, we needed to ensure that the Beyond brand identity was reinforced and that the SEO efforts of the previous domain were maintained. This required a strategic approach to website design and SEO.

Screenshot of BeyondHR website and BeyondSafety Microsite

The Solution

The solution wasn’t as simple as splitting the website into two separate domains, doing so would pose several challenges including;

  • Challenging the SEO of the existing domain.
  • The individual cost of hosting two domains.
  • Time and effort spent managing two domains

So we decided against a standalone website. Instead, we decided to build a ‘microsite’ within the existing BeyondHR website. This would ensure that everything was kept under one roof and that the SEO strategy remained strong with opportunities to pursue different sets of keywords within each site.

The Microsite Build

The microsite build still had everything that you would need from a standalone website – dedicated web pages, a different design, chatbot features, etc. We ensured that it was in keeping with the Beyond brand identity whilst establishing a separate persona that communicated a set of different services.

Homepage

The homepage welcomes visitors to BeyondSafety, quickly establishing the business as a health and safety consultant. In order to extinguish between the two brands, we used separate colour themes; incorporating a green theme which is perfect for health and safety-related services.

Health and Safety Services

For simple and user-friendly navigation, we also built a separate services page. This type of website design ensures that visitors can quickly find the information they need, in addition to providing opportunities to capitalise on keywords from dedicated URLs.

Videos

As part of the client’s SEO strategy, we also sought to leverage Google’s video feature in search results. This dedicated video page would allow the client to rank for specific keywords through informational videos, providing an opportunity to push the BeyondSafety microsite up search engine results.

Resources

We also wanted the BeyondSafety microsite to become a hub of information that would attract visitors for health and safety advice and guidance. This would contribute towards the domain authority for both BeyondHR and BeyondSafety and help establish the BeyondSafety brand as a credible expert within the field.

Dedicated Client Portal

We also created a client portal for Beyond HR’s clients to securely access and upload HR information. This would help protect their client’s data and ensure that they could securely receive sensitive documents.

Screenshot of Video Gallery for BeyondSafety Website
Desktop and Mobile view of BeyondSafety Homepage

The Results

The results of this microsite approach yielded the best results for SEO and website management. The client now had a streamlined solution where all of the business activities were centralised through one main website, with a dedicated microsite that promoted the sub-brand and attracted a different target audience.

  • We didn’t disrupt the current SEO efforts.
  • The main website now ranks for 280+ keywords.
  • They are ranking for video search engine results.

We successfully created two separate brands that were both underpinned by the Beyond brand identity. The client was satisfied with the microsite; it met all of their needs and consolidated their brand and sub-brand in one place.

An innovative approach for SEO domain

At ProfileTree, we specialise in both website design and SEO, this gives us the best tools in order to create sleek and functional websites that are underpinned by a strategic approach.

That’s what sets us apart from the competition, it could have been more convenient for BeyondHR to request an entirely new website for their sub-brand, but we were able to provide strategic industry insights, ensuring that we could find an SEO domain solution that worked for their needs and objectives.

Why Is a Domain Important for SEO?

The domain name of a website is an important factor in SEO, here’s a breakdown of how domain names can impact SEO:

Brandable Domain Names

Search engines, especially Google, have been placing more emphasis on brand signals. A unique, memorable, and brandable domain name can help build brand recognition, which can indirectly benefit SEO through increased user engagement, trust, and link-building opportunities.

Domain Age

Older domains are often viewed as more trustworthy by search engines, although the impact of domain age on SEO is relatively small compared to other factors. It’s more about how well a site has been maintained and improved over time.

Clean History

A domain with a clean, penalty-free history is generally seen as more trustworthy by search engines. A domain that has been penalised in the past may have a harder time ranking, even under new ownership.

SSL Certificate (HTTPS)

Google has confirmed that HTTPS (SSL-secured sites) is a ranking signal. Users are more likely to trust a secure site with their personal information, and browsers like Chrome now label non-HTTPS sites as ‘Not Secure’.

While the domain name is an important aspect of SEO, it is just one piece of the puzzle. High-quality content, a well-structured website, fast loading times, mobile-friendliness, high-quality backlinks, and a great user experience are among the many other critical factors for SEO success – which is exactly what we did for the BeyondSafety microsite build.

TCB Group and their commitment to providing seamless, efficient, and innovative logistics solutions was evident. Our challenge was to translate this dedication, professionalism and expertise into a website design that resonated with their audience.

The objective of this logistics website design was as follows;

  • Design and simple and intuitive website for a global audience
  • Ensure consistent TCB Group branding
  • Optimise the website for SEO

These objectives underpinned the logistics website design strategy for TCB Group. With this three-pronged approach, we were able to enhance their online presence and ensure that they had a website that could keep pace with their operations.

Connecting Global Offices with Sleek Logistics Website Design

TCB Group is a trusted logistics and freight company with a global footprint that’s deeply rooted in Belfast and extends to bustling hubs in Dublin and Singapore. With such a diverse geographical presence, it was essential for them to have a website that could seamlessly connect these locations.

Their clients, partners, and stakeholders needed a unified platform where they could access information, services, and support irrespective of the office they were liaising with. Our challenge was to design a website that not only highlighted their global reach but also ensured that users felt a consistent brand experience, whether they were interacting with the Belfast headquarters or the global offices in Dublin and Singapore.

TCB Group - Location Pages

Dedicated web pages

To do this, we ensured that the website design had dedicated pages for each location. The TCB website was now able to clearly communicate where they provided logistics services and they could now direct customers to their desired location. A simple and intuitive layout like this ensures a more pleasant user experience, which is essential in logistics website design.

Visualised map

In order to further highlight the reach of TCB Group, we also embedded a map feature which pinned the location of each global office. This feature ensured that visitors could quickly visualise the journey and acknowledge how central TCB Group would be to its successful transportation.

We recognized that TCB Group’s clients, ranging from small businesses to large corporations, needed quick and easy access to essential information. Visual aids such as these provide this service and are extremely important in transport and logistics website design.

Case studies

The case studies section provided another feature that would help reinforce TCB Group’s status as a leading global logistics and transport provider. This unique content would also encourage their website visitors to stick around their website for longer improving SEO performance and enhancing the user experience.

Including a case studies section like this is generally good practice for logistics website design. It allows businesses such as TCB Group to offer industry insights into their logistics practices and how they provide expert customer service along the way, building credibility and trust in their brand.

Ensure consistent TCB Group branding

Ensuring consistent TCB Group branding was essential in the logistics website build. This would help bring together all of the different services that they provided and ensure that their global reach was underpinned by a consistent TCB Group brand that customers could quickly recognise.

Consistent colour theme

The branded colours of TCB Group are red, yellow and blue, we embedded this colour theme within the entire website build, using it to reinforce the brand identity and help customers navigate the site.

Branded Graphics

Another aspect of our web design approach was to create branded graphics that would reinforce TCB Group’s brand identity, professionality and credibility. These were peppered throughout the website, helping potential clients visualise the transport method that TCB Group could provide.

Our team of designers created a full collection of branded graphics for the TCB Group. This visualised their brand identity and contributed towards helping their website stand out from competitors.

SEO-Optimised for Visibility

In order to ensure that the TCB Group could be seen by targeted audiences, we embedded SEO tactics throughout the entire logistics website design. This would help bring in more traffic and push their website further up on search engine results.

Fast Loading Times

Our team of web developers optimised the images, content and website coding for faster loading times. This ensured that the website was fully functional, creating a user-friendly experience and reducing the bounce rate – which is a crucial factor in SEO performance.

Quality Backlinks

We also worked on building quality backlinks to the site, further boosting its search engine ranking and domain authority. This helped to position TCB Group as knowledge experts within the logistics and transportation sector.

Keyword Integration

After thorough research, we integrated relevant keywords throughout the site, ensuring organic visibility for optimum results. The case studies section provided a great opportunity to capitalise on this tactic and offer a channel for continued SEO practices going forward.

Massive thanks to the team at Profile Tree for all their hardwork. Nothing was ever any trouble for them and we are absolutely delighted with the final product they delivered to TCB Group. On behalf of the TCB Group team big thanks to Profile Tree for everything. Absolute pleasure to work with and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
